EA's database only grades individual players — no team-level scores exist. OVR / OFF / DEF are generated by the T4Verts model.
For every team we build its best lineup — the top-rated player at each spot in the current personnel and package settings — then score six units using position-specific ratings, not just player OVRs:
QB Rating (overall adjusted by dev trait, throw power, and speed, then compressed toward the league middle so one player never swings a team score more than a full unit does) · O-Line (run + pass blocking across all five spots) · Weapons (backs, receivers, and tight ends, speed-adjusted) · Optimal Rush (each rusher's best pass-rush move) · Run D (front block-shedding and pursuit plus linebackers) · Coverage (speed, man, and zone across the secondary).
Each category is ranked against the other 31 teams, and team numbers average those ranks, not the raw scores — so every category carries exactly equal weight and no single scale (like QB's wide range) can dominate. OFF averages your offensive ranks (QB Rating, O-Line, Weapons), DEF your defensive ranks, and OVR all six, shown as 100 minus the average rank — best in everything would be a 99. Ring colors grade each number against the other 31 teams. With the age modifier on, every starter is also weighted by a youth curve, so the scores reflect roster upside instead of pure current ratings.
The CAP and DRAFT rings are separate from player ratings — they're the team's 2027 effective salary-cap space and draft-capital rankings, 1–32.
